Welcome to CFR Learning
My name is Carol Mulcahy, and I lead CFR Learning. I am a fully registered teacher with over 20 years’ experience teaching in the UK and New Zealand. I have taught secondary education English and Media Studies, worked with the RTLB service (Resource Teachers for Learning and Behaviour), and taught on education and youthwork courses at the University of Auckland. With my husband and three sons, I have lived and worked in Pukekohe since 2010.
My experience, qualifications and educational research bring a specialist focus on Pacific education, diverse learning needs, and supporting young people through critical transitions into and beyond secondary school.
Our Values and Kaupapa

Personalised Learning
We identify each learner’s strengths to provide the best personalised support, enhancing literacy, numeracy, and life skills in a way that works for them.

Raising Self-Esteem
We support students to be resilient and see themselves as capable learners, encouraging a positive, solution-focused approach to reaching their full potential.

Diversity Celebrated
We celebrate diversity and welcome all learners. Our small group sizes ensure every student is seen, heard, and supported.

Supporting Whānau
Consultations are available to support families with strategies to help their child thrive. We can also create opportunities for whānau to connect with others on similar journeys.

Our Services
We offer specialist support across literacy, numeracy, behavioural and social needs, diverse learning needs support, school disengagement, and Pacific education. We also support secondary students and young adults through transitions, and work with schools and professionals on programmes and development.
